Finland's Top Attractions

When picturing Finland we automatically think of Lapland, snow, and Father Christmas. However, there are so many different areas of Finland to visit, so why not consider this as a year-round destination. Did you know there are 40 national parks and 188,000 lakes making this the largest Lakeland in Europe?

The summer season from June to August is a true summer with long days, in fact it never truly gets ‘dark’. During the winter you can expect very cold temperatures and snow.

Lapland – North Visit between November and March for the snow.
November and December for Santa visits and the best months to see the Northern Lights are September-October and February-March. Skiing, snowboarding, ice driving, huskies, saunas, visit Santa, see the Northern Lights.

Lakelands - East – Visit summer and autumn
The Lakelands located on the East has the largest surface of water a web of islands. The area is great for bird and bear watching, scenery, hiking and biking in the forests, swimming, and boating on the lakes. Finnish visit the lakeside for their holidays, sauna/soaking, birch leaves. Renowned as the Wellness capital, there is a sense of healing power, trees, outdoor space, and nature.

Coast & Archipelago of Finland – West – Visit during summer months 
Surrounded by the sea, ferries connect the islands. Great for cycling and sea kayaking. Visit Old Rauma a wooden town, Turku a buzzing city, known for its castle, a medieval fortress. Aland islands with beaches and cliff houses.

Helsinki Region – Capital – Visit year-round, depending on what you wish to do.
Renowned for its urban nature, the capital hosts 3000 yearly events so there is plenty to see and do. Fantastic for walking, Allas sea pool located on waterfront, swimming, saunas. Within an hour you can visit Nuuksio National park, to camp with an open fire, hike, enjoy biking and walking trails. Take a bus East to Porvoo to step back in time, historical houses, chocolate shops, Christmas markets.

Finland has the cleanest air and the purest water, as well as winning the world’s happiest country award this year.
