Culture, geography, nature and adventure
Asia is a vast continent. A land of contrasts and unique heritage. Vibrant bustling cities, incredible beaches, welcoming people, diverse wildlife, cloud shrouded mountains, national parks, fascinating food, cultural diversity, mind-blowing history and architecturally unique.
As major cities go, we love Tokyo. Ultra-modern craziness meets deep tradition. Bangkok has amazing hotels, a vibrant nightlife and intriguing temples. Delhi and Mumbai are our favourites in India. Excessively populated with vast contrasts of wealth, these cities shock the sense but are all part of the Asia experience. Singapore, like Tokyo, is a clean, modern city with the best shopping. It’s safe to say that as far as urban areas go, Asia has it all.
Away from the hustle and bustle, national parks and reserves comprise a huge part of Asia. From a tiger safari in Ranthambore National Park in India, elephant spotting in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka or interacting with orang-utans at Sepilok Sanctuary on the island of Borneo, we can sort the perfect experience for any animal lover. Rainforest dominates much of South East Asia and we encourage travellers to immerse themselves into the biodiversity by, for example, trekking the longest canopy walkway in the world at Taman Negara National park in Malaysia. Hiking in the Himalayas or up Mount Kinabalu – we’ve done both – will suit those with a taste for adventure.
When it’s time to relax, it’s hard to beat the Maldives with its pristine beaches and a laid-back culture. To experience the best of Thailand’s beaches, you need to explore the remote, undeveloped island which those in the know can take you to. Everyone knows Ko Phangan, but few visit Ko Adang with it’s equally impressive deserted beaches. Often forgotten, Indonesia is another gem with contrasting beaches from black volcanic sand beaches to squeaky-white-sand-shores.
