A weekend in Rome

Day 1 - Friday

We have organised a flight from Bristol direct to Rome but before departure to make this a special trip we have included a lounge pass to enable you to relax and escape the busy main terminal prior to boarding. The flight to Rome is approximately 2 hours forty minutes and upon arrival a private transfer has been reserved to take you to your hotel in the city centre. The hotel Villa d’Inghilterra is situated close to the bottom of The Spanish Steps adjacent to city’s most famous shopping street via Condotti. Your stay is for 3 nights including breakfast. After checking in to the hotel we suggest a stroll around the area to familiarise yourself with the immediate surroundings.

Day 2 - Saturday

Today after breakfast we have organised a visit to the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. This trip includes visits to a number of museums, each covering a different period or genre. Although best known for Michel Angelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael rooms, there is much more of interest including the Etruscan Museum, Tapestries Gallery and the Vatican’s own important art collection. (Closed Sundays) As this is quite a busy day we suggest a meal in one of the many Italian family run restaurants and we have provided you with some guidelines and suggestions.

Day 3 - Sunday

A visit to the famous Colosseum has been arranged as part of a guided walking tour. The best way to see Rome is on the 3.5 hour guided walk with a small group and discover the most famous sights and skip the lines at the Colosseum and Roman Forum. This is a morning tour and escorted by an informative and entertaining guide. Tonight another dinner in a Rome restaurant taken from our guide notes maybe this time more off the beaten track.

Day 4 - Monday

The last morning of an amazing short break to Rome planned especially for you. A private transfer has been arranged from the hotel to the airport in time for the flight to Bristol.
