Paris by rail

This short trip to Paris has been personally created for you to enjoy as much as possible the travel and stay in the romantic and vibrant city of Paris.

Day 1

Your journey begins with a rail trip to London and an overnight stay at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel to enable you to start early tomorrow. After check in enjoy a meal in the city and relax prior to your three days in Paris.

Day 2

You'll check out this morning and head to St Pancras International which is just around the corner. Your Eurostar train departs at 10:24, arriving into Paris a little over two hours later. I have selected Standard Premier class on the train which offers a more spacious seat, magazines and a light meal and drinks to make the journey more comfortable.

I have arranged for a driver to meet you at the arrival gate at Gare Du Nord who will drive you to the 4-star Hotel Saint, located in the Saint Germain area of Paris. It's a wonderfully authentic Parisian hotel, tucked away in a quiet street away from the bustle of the city, yet within easy reach of the literary cafes and boutiques on boulevard St Germain. The Louvre just across the river. Your room is air-conditioned and comes equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and a safe. The hotel has a wellness area with beauty treatments, hammam and a fitness room. Plus, there's a bike hire facility which I know you'll need! You will spend three nights at Hotel Saint on a bed and breakfast basis - the buffet breakfast is served in the bistro restaurant and I can personally vouch for its quality!

Once you've settled in, you'll have the rest of the day to explore the city at your leisure. I'd suggest visiting the Eiffel Tower at dusk when the city lights up, or perhaps take an evening boat trip with dinner to see the sights of Paris from the Seine.

Day 3

After breakfast, head to the Arc de Triomphe and walk the length of the Champs Elysees to Place de la Concorde. It's such an iconic street. From here, head to the centre of Paris and enjoy a coffee at Notre Dame Cathedral - the view from the top is incredible. After wandering around the Ile de la Cite, stroll along the Seine towards the Tuileries Gardens where you can see the Louvre, the Pyramid and visit L”Orangerie art gallery and the Musee d’Orsay. If you still have energy, I'd recommend you head to the metro to enjoy a spectacular panorama of Paris at dusk from the steps of the Sacre Coeur Basilica, followed by an evening stroll around the artists area of Montmartre.

Day 4

After (another!) hearty breakfast, I'd suggest heading out to the Cite des Sciences to see it's exhibitions and interactive centres.Then take a walk along the Canal Saint-Martin and soak in the opportunity to catch up on a former working-class area now newly fashionable. The banks of the canal are lined with bistros where you can stop for lunch. The rest of the day can be spent doing everything you wished you'd done yesterday but didn't get round to!

Day 5

This morning you could visit Saint Germain and Saint Michael, and have a relaxed lunch before your jounrney home. I have arranged for your driver to collect you from the Saint Hotel and take you to Gare du Nord in plenty of time to check in for your 17:30 departure.  You will arrive into St Pancras at 18:30 local time from where you will make your way home.
