I first started my travel career in 1983 having completed a comprehensive 2 year travel and tourism course. As soon as I left college I joined the family travel agency business here in Bath and worked alongside the owners until they retired in 2015.

During that time, I've been fortunate enough to travel extensively and see some of the world’s most amazing sights.

My highlights include Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Taj Mahal, Uluru in Australia's red centre and the Sydney Opera House. I've experienced Victoria Falls and more recently, Niagara Falls by both boat and helicopter.

I love visiting South East Asia & IndoChina for the warmth of its people and have been to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines and Indonesia.

I've travelled to many European cities including Rome, Venice, Barcelona, Berlin and Stockholm. I've also spent many exiting days enjoying the thrill of Florida's theme parks.

When and why did you start working in the travel industry?

I’ve been involved in the travel business from a very young age as my father was a travel agent.  I’ve since worked in the industry for over 35 years firstly with the family business and now at C The World

What’s the favourite aspect of your job?

I’ve been lucky enough to have had the chance to experience some very exotic destinations and stay in some luxurious hotels.  I enjoy planning multi centre itineraries and exploring off the beaten track destinations.  I love talking about and selling destinations that I’ve visited. No amount of online research can compare to speaking to someone who’s had personal experience of a destination and has seen, touched, heard, smelt and tasted the destination
