This itinerary is perfect for those that are active, adventurous and want experiences unique to Australia. Get up close to native animals in the wild, enjoy cycling around Sydney, climb the Harbour Bridge and snorkel on the world-famous Barrier Reef.
Day 1
This afternoon you will check in for your Singapore Airlines flight to Sydney via Singapore. We have upgraded the seats to Premium Economy so you can enjoy a little extra comfort, leg room and the famous Singapore Airlines service and in-flight entertainment. The change at Singapore is seamless and takes just 90 minutes.
Day 2
On arrival into Sydney, you will be taken by private transfer to the Intercontinental Hotel where you will stay for four nights in a harbour view room on a room only basis. The rooms are spacious and have great views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.
Day 3
After a relaxing evening, you will enjoy an early morning Bridge Climb followed by a relaxing Sydney Harbour Cruise taking in all the sights of this beautiful city from the water.
Day 4
We have organised a city tour by bicycle with Bonza Bike guided tours where you can enjoy the city from a different aspect. In the afternoon try a surfing lesson at the famous Bondi Beach.
Day 5
Today you can enjoy a walking tour of The Rocks area in the morning and have the rest of the day to explore the city.
Day 6
This morning your driver will collect you and take you to Sydney Domestic Terminal in time for your flight to Melbourne. Upon arrival at Melbourne, you will collect your pre-booked rental car and make your way to the centrally located Sofitel where you will stay for two nights.
Day 7
We suggest you wander the city and explore followed by meal at one of superb restaurants in one of the side streets.
Day 8
Today you'll start your journey in your rental car along the Great Ocean Road to Apollo Bay where you will overnight at the lovely Captains at The Bay - a very popular boutique property offering lovely rooms with an Australia style breakfast.
Day 9
Another day of driving the Great Ocean Road will take you to the the Grampians for an overnight at the Hall’s Gap Motel.
Day 10
Continue your journey from Halls Gap to Ballarat, probably the most significant Victorian era gold rush boomtown growing from a sheep station to major gold mining centre. Overnight and relax at the boutique Oscar’s Hotel and Bar.
Day 11
You'll return from Ballarat to Melbourne where you complete your state of Victoria experience. Ending your journey at the airport, you'll drop the car and fly to Adelaide for a one-night stay. A short private transfer will take you to The Adelaide Treasury Hotel from which you can wander through the city and enjoy the sights and restaurants.
Day 12
Today the adventure really begins as you depart on the 3-day Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safari Sea Lion and Outback Experience. Highlights are Mikkira Station Koalas, Kangaroos and Emus, over 100 species of birds, a visit to Lake Gairdner, Organ pipe rock formations, ancient volcanic ranges, accommodated in luxury tents. Also included is an opportunity to swim with sea lions and dolphins and star gaze at night with a telescope.
Day 14
You will return to Adelaide and spend a couple of more relaxed days exploring this vibrant city.
Day 15
A private transfer will take you back to Adelaide Airport for the flight to the Red Centre, Uluru, where you will be based for the next two nights at The Ayers Rock Resort on a room only basis. A full day tour has been arranged to see all the sights of Uluru and the surrounding are.
Day 17
You'll depart in your rental car this morning for the drive to Kings Canyon, where you will stay for one night at the Kings Canyon Resort on a room only basis. During your short stay visit the rim of the canyon and explore the area.
Day 18
It's on to Alice Springs today, with it's Flying Doctors Museum. You'll have plenty of time to relax and explore the area.
Day 19
Today you fly from Alice Springs to Cairns for the last stop of your trip. You will spend three nights at the beautiful Shangri-La the Marina on a room only basis. Situated right on the waterfront in Cairns, it's just a short walk to the city and all the attractions.
The next three days will be spent on excursions to the Great Barrier Reef with Quicksilver Cruises, where you will have the opportunity to scuba dive and snorkel.
Day 21
Sadly, it is time to leave Australia after what we hope will have been a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The flight from Cairns to London via Singapore will take approximately 23 hours with a short aircraft change in Singapore. From Singapore (for the overnight section), we have upgraded you to Premium Economy so you can relax as best as possible.
